get to know us

Tim and Miranda have almost 3 decades' experience in working cross-culturally. They have lived and worked in various parts of sub-Saharan Africa, working alongside multi-cultural teams with people of all ages and backgrounds. Between them,  they have learned three languages: Miranda's under-graduate degree was in French, they lived for a time in Portuguese-speaking Mozambique, and they now live in Spain. As accredited spiritual directors and with Master's degrees in Christian Formation and Leadership, Tim and Miranda have spoken and trained in dozens of locations across more than 30 countries.

That's the official story ...

The unofficial story takes into account the highs and lows of a number of cross-cultural transitions, the very real joys and challenges of parenting two girls in different cultures, and the winding path of spiritual formation framed by these experiences. It is this that has given us a passion for supporting people on their own inner journeys.

parents, creatives, adventurers

We live by the adage that 'everything is spiritual' - everything has something to teach us, or reveal to us, and God is real to us in every aspect of life. We love creativity of all kinds, from baking bread to turning bowls, from painting to pottery. Our souls breathe when we are in the great outdoors and we love the energising majesty of mountains. We live for the life-enhancing quality of well-chosen adventures, as much as for the ordinary work of raising two daughters which has trained us in the deep inner work of true transformation. Writing about these experiences, in reflective prose and in poetry, helps us process and deepen the learning and the gifts they offer.

family life

Originally from the UK, we have raised our family overseas. This has meant language-learning, cultural transition, wrestling with a sense of belonging to more than one place, and many adventures. We love to create a safe place for parents and families to talk about the joys and challenges of life working overseas.

experienced facilitators

Tim & Miranda have been training in the field of personal development and Christian formation for nearly 20 years. In the context of voluntary organisations and multi-cultural ministry teams, they have offered training in communication, leadership and personal development. They have a process-oriented approach to training, so that trainees are offered immediate opportunities to apply their learning to their own contexts, and to process their personal response to the training content. They especially loves facilitating groups so that everyone has the opportunity to engage in the learning process.

Between them, Tim & Miranda are involved in many different expressions of ministry development. From offering diverse workshops and seminars related to Christian formation, to teaching on a program to train spiritual directors, to leadership development for cross-cultural teams, both Miranda and Tim value cultivating an atmosphere where vulnerability and authentic sharing encourage groups to connect at a deep level inside and outside the classroom context.
